Kind of Bloop — An 8-Bit Tribute to Miles Davis

$5+

Kind of Bloop is an 8-bit tribute to Miles Davis' , commemorating the 50th anniversary of the seminal jazz masterpiece.

Five chiptune legends—Chris J. Hampton, Jake "Virt" Kaufman, Sergio de Prado, Samuel "Shnabubula" Ascher-Weiss, and Rich "Disasterpeace" Vreeland—reinterpret each song from the original album, taking modal jazz into the NES era. Guaranteed to infuriate jazz purists.

Made famous by the unfortunate legal dispute over its album cover, a pixel art rendition of the 1959 album cover, now cited in law schools as a case study in fair use and remix culture.

Produced by me, Andy Baio, and made possible by 419 backers on Kickstarter

Includes MP3 and FLAC versions and updated front/back cover art.
